MY TRIP TO IRELAND, NORTHERN IRELAND AND SCOTLAND

Day 14: Horizontal Rain and Window Shopping

Our plan on Day 14 was to hit some waterfalls, despite the rainy weather. It wasn't meant to be, though.

As we headed out of town, we hit a traffic jam and quickly realized traffic was being turned around. It turns out a mud slide had closed the highway and it was the only realistic route to our destination.

We opted to head back to Inverness and explore the town. There were plenty of places to explore, and my mother was itching to do a bit of shopping something besides souvenir shops, anyway. There were plenty of stores around as well as a good sized mall. Once again, we split into two groups. Here are some of the combined photos we took:

That evening, we met for dinner and found ourselves at Johnny Foxes Pub. We couldn't catch a break, though. Unlike other times when we found most places stopped serving food by 6PM, Johnny Foxes didn't START serving until then. However, the bar was open and we settled in to have a beer until the kitchen opened.

I headed to the B & B following dinner and my parents followed soon after. Since the TV signal seemed to have disappeared that evening, I fired up the Lucy and Desi movie titled "The Long, Long Trailer" on my laptop before falling asleep.
