AWARD AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Emmy Recognition for contribution to production of "Sportscenter"

Received awards for 2003 and 2004 from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Sports Emmy Awards.

Presidential Academic Fitness Award

In 1985, I was awarded the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. This award recognizes excellence in education.

Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America

I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1991 while a member of Troop 152 in Binghamton, NY. For my project, I created a series of instructional videos for the camping and hiking class offered as a gym elective at my high school. I enlisted the help of three other scouts and the head of the AV department at Broome Community College to assist me in the production of the videos. We improvised lighting reflectors even built a home-made version of a "steady-cam" to assist with moving shots while in the woods. The entire 4-video series was edited at facilities located at Broome Community College.

In total, I earned 22 merit badges (including, at that time, a brand new badge for cinematography) and 11 skill awards (no longer awarded under the revised rank structure). I served 1 year as Den Chief for a local Cub Scout pack and served as an Assistant Scout Master for 2 years.

The Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence

I received this award in 1992. It is awarded by the United States Marines Youth Foundation.

High School Diploma

I graduated from Chenango Forks High School in Binghamton, NY in 1992.

Associate in Science, Communication and Media Arts

I graduated from Broome Community College (part of the SUNY system) in Binghamton, NY in 1994.
